You can make your Creator Landing page more memorable and accessible for your users by customizing it with your own domain.

Custom domains are not available for users on Free plans but are available on all Creator paid plans. Check our pricing page to see how many custom domains your plan allows.

Connecting a custom domain to a website or service typically involves several steps. Here's a step-by-step guide to connecting a custom domain:

  1. If you haven't already, choose and register a custom domain through a domain registrar such as GoDaddy, Namecheap, or Google Domains.

  2. Open your Shiken account and go to the Custom Domain tab in the Edit Workspace area. Click on "Add Custom Domain" button.

3. Enter the custom domain you'd like to point your challenges to. Shiken supports adding both a domain (e.g. company.com) or a subdomain (e.g. challenge.company.com).

4. When you click next you'll be presented with a DNS record that needs to be added to your domain registrar's account. Shiken uses CNAME for simplicty.

5. Log in to your domain registrar's account and navigate to the DNS settings for your domain.

6. Add the DNS records you receive from Shiken to your domain provider settings (please refer to the example screen above). You don't need to worry about configuring an SSL certificate as a separate step; we will automatically issue it to you.

7. You will see your domains list along with the verification status for each of them in the custom domain tab. Domain verification can take up to 24hrs depending on your provider and you can click the refresh button next at the top of the status column to force a check at anytime.

Once the changes have propagated across the internet, you will see the "Active" status next to your domain in the domain list.

Please allow up to 24 hours for the CNAME records to fully propagate over the Internet.

If you encounter any issues, double-check your DNS settings as specified in step 5.

Contact the Shiken support team for assistance if you encounter any issues.

Once everything is set up, you can test your custom domain by accessing it in a web browser. This will then point to your workspace landing page.
