Becoming a verified creator means you can share free and paid content on the Shiken Store and promote your courses, questions sets, roleplays, exams and products to over 40,000 registered Shiken users and many more unregistered users via google search.
In order to be eligible for verification you must complete the Creator onboarding steps before clicking the verify button. If you don't your application will be rejected.
How to optimize your workspace and store page
On your profile page within your Shiken Creator Workspace, you can introduce yourself to the community, feature your original kahoots you’re most proud of, as well as add links to any supporting or complementary content you would like to feature. To make your profile even more relevant and give other users a reason to visit it again, we encourage you to fill out all fields and continue adding more kahoots and links.
Save or print out this short checklist with all steps to optimize your profile page:
Workspace Logo
We recommend adding a real photo of yourself if you're a solo educator or your business logo if you're a business.
Banner image
The banner image, which is displayed in the top part of your workspace and store page page, adds a nice visual touch!
You can upload your own high-quality image. The recommended dimensions are [1280x256px, a ratio of 5:1]. This will work for the desktop view [6:1 ratio] and mobile view [3:1 ratio].
You can use an image you created yourself or a photo you took. If your photo contains people – for example, students or clients – make sure all have given consent to be featured on the web. Alternatively, you can use an image with a Creative Commons license. Please avoid using copyrighted images.
Social media profiles
Feel free to include links to your profiles, for example, on Twitter or Instagram!
When it comes to any external links you add to your Verified profile, please ensure that all content added there is appropriate for your intended audience.
Workspace/Store name
Your workspace name will appear on your banner. Make sure this is descriptive of your store and is suitable for a wide audience.
Add products
Add courses, quiz sets and exams prior to applying for verification this gives the team a good idea of what you will be sharing on the Shiken Store.
If you’d like to make a course public, you can add it to your Verified profile. Do not fear, if you do not have courses yet, follow the steps in the next section.
Always remember: No copyrighted images
Whether it’s your background image or an image used in any of your courses, please avoid using copyrighted images.
This is one of the most common reasons for declining Verified creator applications.
5 steps to making a great Shiken product
Define key knowledge and learning goals – what do you want to achieve with the kahoot? Will you use it to introduce a topic, review, or assess knowledge?
Package chunks of knowledge in simple, easy-to-understand questions. We recommend having 8-20 questions in a quiz depending on the goals and topic complexity.
Define relevant answer options – the incorrect ones matter, too!
Get creative with imagery or video to enhance your questions.
Structure the kahoot to give it a progression – the best quizzes and courses have a narrative or “flow.”
Mix and match question types depending on learning goals
In addition to multiple-choice quiz, Shiken offers a variety of other question types – and we highly encourage you to mix and match them depending on your learning goals! Here’s a refresher:
True or false: a great way to captivate attention or check how well players understand a topic;
Type answer: players have to type a short correct answer – perfect to assess knowledge without cues;
Puzzle: deepen learning by asking to place answers in the correct order;
Poll: collect opinions or run a quick pulse-check;
Slide: introduce a topic, provide more context, explain the correct answer – to keep the kahoot engaging and dynamic, we recommend to use less than 3 slides in a row.

Why was my application to become a Verified creator declined?
All applications are reviewed by our editorial team, and the most common reasons for declined ones are:
Your content isn’t original: for example, they’re copied from other creators’ profiles or look very similar to them;
Your content isn’t in line with Shiken's Terms and Conditions: please review them thoroughly;
You’ve used copyrighted images or brand references: please only use images with a Creative Commons license or your own material.
We hope that the guidelines above will help you fix whatever hiccups occurred and you can apply again!
